About Lake Las Vegas

Lake Las Vegas is built around a 320-acre lake you can kayak on, and the community describes itself as offering "Resort Style Living, Gated Privacy and Spectacular Views". It is part of Henderson: the city lists Lake Las Vegas among its 25 master-planned communities.

Lakefront living brings its own security questions. A home on the water can be approached from the lake side as well as the street, big glass doors that frame the view need more than a door contact, and a home that sits empty part of the year needs to report problems on its own.

Henderson police and alarm rules apply

Because Lake Las Vegas is inside Henderson city limits, alarm calls go to the Henderson Police Department, not Las Vegas Metro. Henderson regulates alarms in Municipal Code Chapter 4.18:

• Audible alarms need an automatic 20 minute cutoff or must be silenced within 20 minutes (4.18.250), and the noise code requires an exterior burglar alarm to shut off within 15 minutes (8.84.030).
• More than three false alarms in 30 days, among other thresholds, starts a 14 day repair window and can lead to a citation with a minimum fine of $250 plus court costs (4.18.290 and 4.18.300).

Monitored systems are on a 3 year agreement, explained before you sign. If the home already has a system, we can evaluate it and often connect existing equipment to our monitoring.
